Deregistration of Fairmont Asset Management Inc. as an Exempt Market Dealer
Fairmont Asset Management Inc. (Fairmont) is a registered Exempt Market Dealer (EMD) and has been serving as the captive dealer for the MIC Issuer, Premiere Canadian Mortgage Corp. (Premiere Canadian). As announced earlier this year, effective September 1, 2025, Fairmont was acquired by Alta West Mortgage Capital Corporation (Alta West) as a wholly owned subsidiary
Alta West Capital is registered as an Exempt Market Dealer (“EMD”), Restricted Portfolio Manager (“RPM”) and Investment Fund Manager (“IFM”) in the province of Alberta. The firm is also registered in the provinces of British Columbia, Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Yukon as an EMD. As Alta West is fully accredited to provide EMD services to Premiere Canadian, we will transition these responsibilities to Alta West and will be winding down Fairmont. As such, Fairmont has applied to the BC Securities Commission, as its principal regulator, to surrender its registration as an EMD in all jurisdictions in which it is registered, effective February 1, 2026.
As a result of these activities, we will be transferring your Fairmont account to Alta West. There will be no impact on your account as a result of the transfer. Prior to any new trades, you will be contacted by a dealing representative of Alta West to update your personal and financial information as per securities regulation. As part of this transition, I will be transferring my securities registration to Alta West, and along with Alta West’s experienced securities team, we will continue to address all your account matters in a professional and efficient manner.
